Google Search Console’s AI-Powered Configuration Is Now Live for All Users

This feature is now officially live for everyone, so if you use Google Search Console, it’s time to check it out.

A few months ago, Google started testing its AI-powered configuration tool inside Search Console. The goal was simple: allow users to ask questions in natural language and automatically generate performance reports.

Now, Google has confirmed that this feature is rolling out to all users worldwide.

In a recent update, Google announced:

“The Search Console’s new AI-powered configuration is now available to everyone!”

What Is AI-Powered Configuration?

AI-powered configuration allows you to describe the analysis you want in simple language.

Instead of manually setting filters and comparisons, you can now type what you need, and Google will configure the report for you.

According to Google, this feature:

“Lets you describe the analysis you want to see in natural language. Your inputs are then transformed into the appropriate filters and settings, instantly configuring the report for you.”

This feature is available inside Google Search Console under the Performance section.

Rolling Out Now for All Users

If you log in to your Search Console account and open the Performance report, you may see a notification at the top that says:

“New! Customize your Performance report using AI.”

Once you click on this option, you will be taken to the AI-powered configuration interface, where you can start typing your queries.

From there, Google’s AI prepares the report automatically.

How the AI Tool Works

Google previously explained that the AI-powered configuration tool helps users by handling three major reporting tasks.

1. Selecting Metrics

The system automatically chooses which metrics to show based on your query, including:

  • Clicks

  • Impressions

  • Average CTR

  • Average Position

You no longer need to manually select them.

2. Applying Filters

The AI applies relevant filters such as:

  • Search query

  • Page URL

  • Country

  • Device

  • Search appearance

  • Date range

This saves time and reduces configuration errors.

3. Configuring Comparisons

The tool can also create advanced comparisons, including:

  • Custom date ranges

  • Period-over-period analysis

  • Device or country comparisons

All without manual setup.

Why This Matters for SEO Professionals

This update is important because it makes data analysis faster and easier.

Instead of spending time setting up reports, you can now focus on understanding performance and making SEO improvements.

However, there are a few things to keep in mind:

  • This feature currently works only in the Search Results Performance report

  • It is not available for Discover or News reports

  • Since it uses AI, results may not always be perfect

  • Manual verification is still recommended

Still, it can be a useful tool for discovering trends and testing new ideas.
